Listen I'm as much an Audio Addict as the next Guy and love AK to bits and from time to time drop my own Posts or enter with replies to other's Post but what really grabs my attention is the number of Posts some Members have reached.Don't get me wrong I am just wondering how they find the time in their probably busy hectic lives? Yes I know that these high Post #'s didn't happen overnight and yet still wonder!I've been a "Senior" for just over a year and been retired for over 10 but with daily life involving my Family,Friends,Audio/Stereo for nigh on 50 yrs as well as other interests,I find I could never attain these lofty #'s unless I was on-line 24 hrs a day everyday. So in essence I'm just wondering how some of you Members have done it,been on a long time?Have no other interests?Whatever the reason maybe please drop a reply so some of us "newer" Guys can know, notice I said newer but didn't mention the "Older" bit!..lolOL
Thanks Guys for any and all replies hopefully all in good fun:):thmbsp:

usually I check it when I am at work to kill the time

home when I have nothing to do

it is just fun being here

AudioKarma is a part of my life, but it is not my life. I check in in the morning before I go to work (like now) and check in a second time in the evening.

High numbers are impressive and in a way a status symbol. Despite that I appreciate more a member like TikiBar who is witty and funny than somebody with some 30000 posts who has no sense of humor, or isen't tolerant or doesen't like krauts :D or is exclusively interested in Marantz gear :D etc. - so the number of posts is not so important for me.

A lot of retired guys here who have plenty time to increase their number day by day enormously which is fine, no doubt about that. But I think that there are also some a post addicts. Addiction lies in wait everywhere, not only in our favourite bar.

1. Cheeky 'young' Git! [:D]

2. "I've lived too long, I'm in the ruck,
I've drunk too deeply of the cup,
I cannot spend, I cannot ****,
I'm down and out, I'm buggered up".

[Pushkin (supposedly)]

Cheers, og

There are two kinds of AK posters - those who treat posting like a telephone conversation, and those who only post when they have something relevant/interesting to say. Both kinds should be appreciated.

And I'm hoping that there are those who don't aspire to live with the busy and hectic life and are content to not cram cram and cram activitites. They might just have time for a post or two, should they desire it!

well I spend a great portion of every day starin' at a computer - and I can type pretty fast.

Me too. But I figured it was the typical whinge about people with whom one has a disagreement. First, one argues with them. Finding that they are better at it that oneself, one accuses them of being mean and evil. Finding no support for that accusation among the rank and file, one then goes to the old standard "Well...you talk too much." Which is just another way of saying "I'm tired of being proved wrong every time I open my mouth. So shut up."

Typically the last thing a person says before they loudly announce that they're going away, never to return, and won't we all be sorry then.

Just my experience. But what do I know, I talk too much.

Well, believe it or Nutz, I DO have a life...Its just that the time spent here is preferable in many ways to "Real" life.

I'm just holding on in order to meet more fine AKers! :D

Oh, my life now consists of having mornin' battles with my legs. Askin' permission if they are ready to go! :D
