Last night while at a mexican restaurant outside Greensburg PA I glance at the TV and they are having 'slippery stair climbing world championships'

People in bright unitards with helmets and knee/elbow pads climb 2-3 flights of body lotion covered stairs while women at the top threw plastic balls at them.

Later there were Marble racing championships...where marbles raced in a lego-built stadium

Who would show this?

Apparently there *IS* a channel called 'ESPN8 - The Ocho'. Perfect for a mexican restaurant I say.

Now I realize I dont watch TV at all and this has likely been around for over a decade but someone REALLY made 'The Ocho'????

When everything is on TV, everything is on TV.
The first one sounds like Wipeout, an ABC summer show here, and there's also a UK version, and I've seen similar (and stranger) for Japanese TV.
As for marble races, can it be any less boring than watching Wil Wheaton play board games?

1,781 stations on my cable package and not a damn thing worth watching. The clincher is what I remember being told about pay TV "no commercials".
