Does anybody recommend this Clearaudio Concept Turntable?

This is new to Clearaudio's product line.

Clearaudio makes some of the finest tables out there. I haven't heard this particular model but it must be a great product also. It won product of the year & has received great reviews.

If you can audition one, do it. If you're considering buying one without auditioning I doubt you'll be disappointed.

I've owned several different tables (past and present). I presently own their Champion model which is a phenomenal piece of equipment. Prior to the Champion I have also owned their Emotion model as well.

I would give a :thmbsp: to any Clearaudio table (no affiliation.......just a really happy customer). :)
 
Do you think it can play 33, 45, & 78 with the same cartridge. It seems almost everything on this TT is setup at the factory with very minimal customer setup.
 
Given it's price point I have to wonder if the Emotion/Satisfy package is going away or if it's an intro. price and it will go up.

It depends on the cartridge, but yes, it's certainly possible. All you need is something like an Ortofon OM series or a Stanton 500. Swap stylus as you go from microgroove to 78 and adjust VTF accordingly.

It's a nice looking turntable and encouraging to actually see published specs, which is not always the case with some so-called "audiophile" turntables.

I like that it offers 78 rpm capability as well. From what I see, it's fixed at 78.26 rpm and would not offer variable pitch control for older acoustic discs? But for electrically-recorded discs from the mid '20s onward, it should be a fine performer.

It lacks features that I consider essential to my needs, but overall I'm impressed and it appears to offer a better design and build quality than some of the competion out there.
 
I like the look of this much better than the earlier Clearaudio offerings..this is one of the most attractive turntables I've ever seen! Hmm...do I need another turntable for my bedroom?

The magnetic bearings on their tables are really nifty. I was looking at one once, and the salesman spun the platter without the belt and it was still going many many minutes later.
 
I never heard the table but I run the Clearaudio Aurum Beta S Mk2 on 2 different tables and I love it.

Do you think the Clearaudio Concept would be a better TT than a VPI The Scout TT? VPI The Scout is $1800 but the Clearaudio Concept is $1500. Is the Scout worth the extra $300?

Personaly I don't think so but at that level it mostly comes down to what look you prefer between the two. They're very different.
 
Given the reputation of both Clearaudio and VPI I have to think it might come down to personal preference. Shame there are so few places to hear quality turntables, to be able to make the comparison.
