Does anyone else have RtR Speakers?

I just acquired a pair of RtR PS 1 pyramid-shaped speakers. Thy are three-ways with 8 inch woofers. Opened them up and was impressed by the crossovers and general build quality. Very nice cabinets and the grills are in great shape. Just trying them out now with my Citation 11 pre and a Quatre 100 DLH amp (100 per side). Sound is crystal clear. Pretty cool things.

Quatre! Now there’s a name from the past. I had a Quatre DG-250C for many years, paired with Dahlquist DQ-10s, a synergistic combo at the time, according to some reviews.

Wound up selling the amp to a guy who said he was the original designer or manufacturer, don’t remember. He had a complete Meridian system, first time had ever heard it, impressive!

To bring this full circle, I sold lots of RtR speakers back in the early 80s. I was chastised for not pushing our crap in-house speakers. Anyone with ears knew the RtRs were very good and the in-house were not.

The Quatre was recommended as a pairing with the HK Citation 11 back when purchased by my brother. He then I have owned them for about 50 years.

I've got a pair of 180D's that a friend gave me because they didn't make a sound. Tracked problem to circuit breakers,removed them and sodered fuse holders in their place w/2 amp fuses.Very nice,well built speakers that,IMO,sound pretty decent. Woofers do i9n fact have rubber surrounds.Apperently,these were in storage almost all of these years w/failed cicuit breakers.My buddy was given them by orig.ownerwho stuck them in a closet in the late 70's. They look new and I like them. I have way too many spkrs. so these are for sale...I live in Seattle. contact me if interested. Thanks,Y-T

Here it is,four years later and I still have my 180D's.I'm glad I didn't sell them as they're the speakers that I listen to on a daily basis.I've grown to really like them,good imaging and they make better sense than my "Corn-Scala's" for the size of room that I have. They're NOT for sale!I run them with a Dynaco ST-150 and PAS III.

Love the pre-BIC RTR's. These are of my current RtR"s which someone called a RTR 1200d but I've never seen another pair
I also have 4 180D's and used to have 2 280D's which were awesome.

Those are 1200E's not 1200D's and that is the Magnum 15 subwoofer that sits underneath of them. They were made from 1972 to 1973. Very cool set up and extremely detailed. As a massive Rtr collector I'm jealous.

WOW....except for the pyramid those are the 280dr and esr15 like what I have they have been in storage for nearly 40 years...they are in need of circuit breakers and not sure what else...but they, in my opinion, they outrocked the bose and the klipschorns some of my friends had!! the subwoofers firing directly into the floor would rock the whole house!! need to find a qaulity and reputable speaker repair service....what do the pyramids have in them?
