Does anyone else have RtR Speakers?

Did you replace those hateful caps? I've had several pair of speakers with those red end capacitors and they all sounded much better and brighter after replacing them with new ones.

Yes and they were bad...
Put in an ohmmeter on each one of them and one tested at a 118 ohms one at .03 ohms another at 3.1 and another at zero..

Definitely junk.

I replaced the front tweeter and mid-range with Dayton 6.2 UF
And then I created my own separate 3.9 UF German audyn cap to the top mounted tweeter because creates a higher crossover point for the top tweeter and allows for a higher RMS power rating on that particular tweeter.... No need for attenuation at that high of a crossover point

I definitely like them...

You're not going to go out and purchase Walnut veneered speakers that are 36 in tall and 65 LBS or more in today's world unless you spend some big bucks

These RTR Series 2 speakers use aluminum wires...
Which surprised me and I had never seen before in any of the speakers I have messed around with.

I have a pair of 100d's that I picked up for nothing but sadly need work mainly on the cabinets. I have the front grills. Anyone have these and how do they sound?
 
I just picked up this pair for $13. Reading this thread, they're deep into BIC ownership, and almost befit their white van looks. They're not terrible, but definitely a step down from my other similar sized speakers (Klipsch KG4, EPI100).
