Does Connecting My Speakers In Parallel Damage Them?

So for almost 1 year i've been using my home speakers in parallel and I wanted to know does this damage them? If I ever played loud but I haven't but would it cause them to get damage or blow them? They are running in 4 ohms but this is 2, 8 ohm speakers that are in parallel done by me so I intended to lower the ohms to be this way.

My amplifier has plenty of headroom and yes I know everything about the power stuff don't clip them, don't over power them, don't play tons of bass through them.

The receiver/amp is what's in danger when you present too low of an impedance to it. Two eight ohm speakers in parallel should theoretically present a 4 ohm load to the amp. If you've got a modern amp, it shouldn't be a problem.

I use a crown amp it's capable with 4 ohms
 
I have always wanted to run my speakers in series/parallel so they are all the same OHM and I can theoretically chain 4 speakers on the A or B channel. I tried one night and with 6 speakers 1 hour later sound only came out of the first speaker haha....where or where can my speakers sound be, lord must have I wasn't ready for that and took it away from me.

Now I'm good and don't try til I get 100% absolutely sure I know what's what.

Good luck man, what amplifier are you using by the way. I love big head room low load running amps. They got it when you need it.
 
Hooking up speaker systems in series sounds awful. Parallel (if you have an amp that can handle it) or more amplifier channels (not A/B speaker hookups on your receiver) is the way to go.

I'm using a Crown XLS 1502.
