Does MX135 setup take precedence?

I have an MX135 and an MVP861. On the MX135, I've set the speaker levels using a sound (dB) meter, as well as speaker sizes, delays, etc. The MVP861 also has these same setup parameters, but do I need to adjust them? Will they clash with or throw off the MX135 settings, or does the MX135 take precedence and basically ignore the MVP861's settings? Does the same also apply to sound processing, with the 135 doing it all?

I assume the 861 has these settings because not everyone has an MX135/119 to connect to, and therefore would need to make adjustments if, say, they connected the 861 directly to an amp.

So, who is "in charge," the MX135 or the MVP861?

then MX135 is the one to set up.The MVP is capable of level adjustment if you don't use a pre-processor.check your manuals, however.

If you are playing multi-channel DVD-A or SACD disks on the MVP861 and feeding this 5.1 output from the DVd player to the External inputs of the MX135 the 135 will only be a volume control. All distance, level settings, bass filter (X-Over) and speaker size will need to be done in the 861 set up menu.
The External input of the MX135/119 is pure analog without any processing. You can store the front panel trim settings on the MX135 for External, if you want to change on the fly, without going back to the 861 setup menu.

That depends on what you want the 135 to do. On External input the MX is just a 5.1 analog volume control. On all other analog inpts they can be digitally processed if desired.
