make dedicated 2-channel cd player, I have been buying old Kyocera"s cuz they go so well with all my SX receivers, silver fronts with the wood sides. Last night another one bit the dust and I thought, well that's it I have to buy a couple new units of some kind, these old ones just break soon after I get em and knowbody seems to want to work on em. But I will say that when they work they sound really good, I love that warm 2-channel sound. I looked at Cambridge, I like em but would rather have something made by Pioneer so it will kinda match all my gear.

One other thing, I know Pioneer made some cdp's back in the day that had all the gold internals, could someone give me those models so I can keep an eye out. If pioneer no longer makes a 2-ch is Cambridge my only choice, what others are out there I can look at, thanks, Roost

Pioneer still makes dedicated CD players (with SACD capability, such as the PD-70 below)....it just choose not to market them in this country.

Have you try TEAC? Yamaha? Onkyo? Marantz?

sound, I looked at the Teac P-650 and the Onk C-7030 both are under 250 but reviews don't seem that good. I love that Pioneer in the pic, they wont ship that to America ? maybe I can pick one up on the bay. I would really prefer not to have black but it seems their all black, i'll check out Yamaha and Marantz, if you know any model numbers that would help, thanks, Roost

sound, I cant find that unit in the pic anywhere, when you google PD-70 one comes up but it was made in 1984, looks totally different too. Are you sure about that model number, I would like to try and get one like the pic, can you post a link to it, thanks, Roost

I found it, the one in the pic is a PD-50-s, there's one on ebay. How hard is it to convert it to run on 110 here in US, anyone know ?

I can strongly recommend the Teac CD-H750 CD player. It's extremely well built has a built in USB recorder/player port.
It also has the latest Burr-Brown DAC.

Where can one buy it -------a UBS port --NICE!!!!

same here, I cant find the silver, but I did see a pic of this unit in silver so its out there, maybe Celt knows where its at. At 250 I will get a pair, that way one for both mains, no more 30 year old cdp's for Roost. This Teac has to be better than the Kyocera's I'm buying now from the 80's, they sold new for 1200 clams though.

Celt, my good fellow, can you post a link to the silver, I've looked at amazon and crutchfield and ebay, tons of black, thanks man you made my day with this find...Roost

I was in the market for a cdp this year. I have some Pioneer components and like them. So, it was a natural fit to see what Pioneer had in terms of cd players. I found the line referred to above. IIRC, there's 3 models in that line and at least the top 2 have SACD capabilities. I read what I could on these cd players and liked what I read. But, for whatever reason, they are only available in Japan and Europe. I know a brand/product manager for Pioneer and e-mailed him regarding future availability of these cd players in the US but got no response. Unfortunate really because I would have purchased one if available.

Hope this helps.
