there is a listing for this reciever. going for 40. there is no further info that i could find.

its full name is sony natural sound reciever cr 820. any info thanx. seems to have dual heat sinks. perhaps denotes dual power supplies?

Sorry, It doesn't mean dual power supplys

Sounds more like Yamaha Natural Sound CR-820

Are you sure it is a Sony? I thought the "Natural Sound" trademark belonged to Yamaha. I have a Yamaha CR 620 that sounds pretty sweet, and a Yamaha Natural Sound turntable. IMHO $40 sounds like a fair deal on an 820; if it is in good shape, its a good deal.

thanx to both of you for prompt replies. i thought there was something fishy about the name. as i could only come up with yamaha on the natural sound name.
well any way its in craigslist initiall started at 80 then 60 now 40. it has a blown fuse and poster said at time of release was a best of the best" sort of deal. dont know about that.

Its a real nice receiver.At $40 you could still put some money into repairing it and still come out ahead.

last page of the instruction manual has the specs which I believe is 50wpc RMS at 8 ohm and 60wpc RMS at 4 ohm

I picked up a Kenwood natural sound receiver. It turned out to be a Yamaha R-1000.

The CR-820 may have transistor outputs. $40 is not bad even if it needs a repair you could do.
