Hey everyone. So I'm hoping someone can help me out. I just bought an incredible pair of speakers from a local fellow audiophile. A pair of Leedh Psyche speakers. They are unreal. We were listening and talking audio and he showed me his CD player. A magnavox cdc745 with a Don Allen tube output mod on it. I fell in love with this thing. I'm wondering if anyone has a way of getting in contact with don? The guy I bought the speakers from informed me that don is now retired and doesn't have a contact for him any longer. I would like for him to teach me some of his knowledge. He only lives about an hour from me. Have any of you heard his builds/mods? They are pretty sweet. Any help would be great. Thanks

Did you search AK for threads on Don Allen? If you put it in quotes it will find some threads. I don't know if that will help but you may identify some AKers who have Allen eqpt.
Everyone does not always see every thread so contacting people by private message may be a route.

I've seen some of his pieces for sale over the years. He was a long-time tube component builder and modifier, living in the Phoenix area. Building and restoring tube amplifiers, preamps, and modding CD players and DACs with tube buffer outputs. He retired a couple of years ago and moved to Florida.

If you search Google Images for Don Allen tube amplifiers, you can see many examples of his work.
