Doxa Modell 40 Power Amplifier repair

Hello!

I have problems with a nice Doxa model 40 power amp. It sounded absolutely fantastic and gave me a lot of joy, until it decided to no more.

It wouldn't turn on. Opened it up to look for visible faults and there was a blown 6.3a slow fuse. Tried replacing it but it kept happening. Eventually found out that some of the solder from the rectifier(?`) were loose

So.... New fuse, we tried again. Fuse blown again together with smoke from the rear right from the amp. Saw that smoke was coming from the right side at the back and suspected the green resistors at the back there. unsoldered both of the two green at the back right side and it turned out one was broken. Haven't managed to find my way from here and trying to find someone who knows something about this. I'm relatively new, and generally have little idea about capacitors, resistors, diodes and transformers. This case has given me so much joy that it deserves better than me reposting this one too :)

From what I can see, there are different types of resistors in a row of 5 for each of the channels(?) Looks like someone has been in here before I owned it. None of the smaller ones have smoked, it's one of the two larger ones (15w) at the very back left by the relay, fuse and power cable.

Lil update: The last thing i tried was replacing both of the 15w resistors with some 10w and same thing happened again...

I wish you good luck. I did a quick search and did not find any service info for the amp. It looks pretty hard to service the amp boards with that odd heat sink configuration.

A bit of advice, if you take this any further look up how to build and use a dim bulb tester. It may have saved you from the smoke you let out.
