Dream Architecture

I was looking around at architecture and came across these. This is more interior design. Not quite there but pretty close to what I dream of. Would make for a very nice man.. cavern. :)

I like the syling of the top one Maybe a full daylite basement with alternating windows and that style shelf. With some sort of pocket doors that would completely seal off the windows for security or a better listening room.
Nice high ceiling soemthing like 9' to 9' 6 " not to high or the heat just goes up.

Maybe a softer floor or more heavy area rugs

Wow, that is just like my living room. Well, except mine is smaller, crappier, needs new carpet, has no hardwood, has lots of crappy furniture and too much other crap in it, and the ceilings are much lower. But other than that, it is just the same. :D Well, it's rectangular anyway. Oh, that one isn't really rectangular. :scratch2: I guess mine is actually nothing like that one. :dammit:

I like that. What is it, Pan Pacific Arts and Crafts?

Good eye! Both photos are from a 1938 house that's been remodeled. It sits backed up to Diamond Head and has a pretty decent front yard so it's private.

Jeez... didn't anyone notice the wall of cool vintage radios?!

VERY nice room! If it is backed up to Diamond head, must have nice views, mostly good weather, etc... Nice way to live!

For an audio-focused 'mancave', I think you'd have to add some acoustic treatments. It looks like it has some diffraction, but too much reflectivity. More carpets, perhaps some nicely-disguised acoustic material between those ceiling beams, some plants and disguised bass traps in the corners, perhaps a tapestry or two hanging by reflection points... But the "feel" of the room is very nice. :thmbsp:

Very nice, and you have got to love the Antique Radio collection in the first photo. As well as what appears to be an amp on the top shelf by the desk. Hmmmm some more rugs and a few chairs and Da*@n!

Yeah I agree. The room definitely needs more acoustic treatment. As is, it would probably sound like being in a cave. Set-up properly it would be awesome, kick backed, listening to music as the sunset over Waikiki.

Anyone got $6 million that I could have? :D

Those are really nice rooms but I would need to add curtains. In this area, there are so many huge, beautiful homes without curtains. At night you frequently see them all lit up and the interiors entirely visible from the street. I don't get it.

This is one of my favorite rooms: http://www.gamblehouse.org/photos/virtual/living.html. I'd just add a few more bookcases, a nice danish modern console or two and a few more comfortable chairs.
