DSOTM as a Carver Sonic Hologram

I was rummaging through some old files and stumbled upon this info I got while in college. It was for a broadcast of DSOTM in Carver Sonic Holography from 1980!

I remember the event very well. I was not overly impressed but that may have been due to my Heathkit tuners limitations.

Anyone from MA remember WCOZ? Not quite the equal to 'BCN.

I vaguely remember the local rock station doing something similar if not exactly the same thing.
I actually have a Carver preamp with the sonic holography feature but my room isn't really compatible with the required positioning of speakers and listening position without a LOT of work/changes.

I used to have a Carver CT6 with the Sonic Holography feature and regardless of speaker positioning it could be quite an addicting enhancement.

Also have holography here and have fine tuned the system for max effect over the years. Add that full quad and dynamic expansion and DSOTM (as well as most anything else) takes on a whole 'nuther dimension ...

This album really lends itself to a multi-channel experience. I have the multi-channel SACD and it's quite well done indeed.

It was originally recorded and mixed for quad, so multichannel is how it's supposed to be heard.

Kind of off topic, but all you quad heads out there pay attention to any newer releases that were also put out as multichannel (SACD, DSD, etc). I swear the vinyl release of Joe Satriani's Strange Beautiful Music is one of the best quad mixes ever. The music just wraps you up and surrounds you in SQ mode on my QRX 9001 ...
