Compulsive speaker freak
I recently picked up a pair of nice DSS-7 speakers in a trade and these baby's rock. Not quite as good as the DSS-9's but still hold their own against most of the west coast sound speakers from Japan and the rest of the world.
Similar specs to the big brother DSS-9 speakers the DSS-7's have Beryllium ribbon tweeters, Boron cone midrange and the polymer graphite cone woofers. I'm not sure if the 7's have a dual voice coil woofer like the 9's so I'll have to pull one and check it out.
Same shitty vinyl veneer as the rest of the DSS line but it's easy to overlook after listening to them.
Temporarily set up with a Hafler 100wpc amp and Carver pre and a Pioneer DVD player. Eventually I will run the DSS-7's along with the DSS-9's in my office using an all silver Pioneer system probably using an SA-9500 integrated amp for a base.
