Dual 1009 Power Switch Slide Assembly

Hi to all.

I’m working on a Dual 1009 that has a power issue. The unit will turn off prior to the arm setting down on the rest. I’ve seen other posts and I’ve followed many of the suggestions with alignment and adjustment of the power control arm and its latching function. regardless of how I attempt to align these features, the unit turns off prior the platter competing its final full rotation.

As a note, I can tell I’m not the first to work on this unit. One area of concern is the AC power slide switch, It has definitely been tampered with and I’m not sure if the power is switching on/off with the slide portion as it should. I’ve removed the slide portion (Item #26 - Dual part #12F-U 56, Switch Slide Assembly) and it appears as the mating fingers have been tweaked. The problem as I don’t know what the bend/form of these fingers should look like. See pics with markup.Maybe my part is perfect, just trying to verify, eliminate non issues, and keep troubleshooting.

Does anyone have an original that you can post a pic so I can compare?

It looks pretty close. Look at this one below.
It looks like the piece on top of the contacts slides on top of the curved contacts, so they need to be curved enough to press against the board just above it.
Yours look very dirty (black) so you should clean them off with isopropyl alcohol or Deoxit and Q-tip. Clean the underside of the board also.
Is yours missing the piece that is on top of the contacts (blue arrow)?

Thanks for this. I’ll clean the contacts. I’m trying determine the correct bend to make/break contact at the correct position of the power control arm.
