DUAL 1015 tracking force trouble

My DUAL 1015 has the M75 Type D cartridge.
I wanted to buy a new needle and I found that this cartridge has the stylus ”DN 325 (N71 M-B) 0.6 mil spherical diamond” according to https://www.vinylengine.com/library/dual/m75.shtml
I found a compatible stylus called „N75-6 Shure” in one of local stores (I wrote compatible because that was written in the N75-6 specs). I ordered it, it came, I insert it in the cartridge but I remembered I never set the tracking force on my DUAL. That was a big slap over my face I took.

I started to read DUAL's manual and the info of the cartridge and I found that my cartridge has a stylus pressure: 2.5g (2 to 3g).
I started to balance the tonearm (having tracking force and anti skating set to zero).
After I found the balance for the tone arm, I started to put weight on the tonearm by rotating the little wheel situated on the counterweight and use a digital scale to reach 2,5 g.
I managed to do that, BUT AFTER I screw that little wheel to LOCK it, the tracking force is not 2,5 g anymore. It is bigger like 2,64 g.
I was very careful when I screw it in to lock it, not to touch or rotate it. Where do I do the wrong? What can I do to fix this?

I followed manual more carefully and the tracking force does not modify after tightening the screw. Phew!
Everything is OK with the tracking force.

The only problem that remains is IF the N75-6 styus I bought was a good choice or not or if the tracking force of 2,5 g is suitable for that stylus.

Shure carts take on the tracking force of whatever stylus you have in them. The M71MB had a tracking force of 2-3g, but the M75-6 (which your cart essentially now is) tracks at 3-6g, so you want to get your VTF to at least 3g.

I would say the N75-6 stylus is a good choice for what looks like a heavy arm. The tracking-force range for this stylus is actually 1.5-3g and I would use it at 2.5g, like you. So you should be OK

And the difference between 2.5 and 2.64 grams is insignificant. You can play around with the counterweight to get the end result closer but it's not really necessary.

It's 3-5g for the original .6 stylus. The new ones are 2-3g. I guess the OP has a new one, so my bad about that.

Yes, I imagine a new aftermarket stylus would be based on the M75-6S with the lower tracking force. My advice to Ovi would be, if there is noticeable mis-tracking distortion, increase the tracking force to 3g or more. Sometimes aftermarket styli work better with a tracking force a little higher than the originals anyway.

Also, the Dual 1015 in good order can track at 1 gram or so. And has antiskating. So you could use any M75 stylus option in yours therefore.
