Have 2 Dual 1019's. One is pretty much toast. But has a better idler whell than the one that works. So decided to swap idlers. Darn little threaded screw is froze up. Tried as carefully as I could, still trashed the head. Got the wheel off. Went to the other 1019. Same thing. I sprayed WD-40 and let it sit. Still no luck, it's trying to strip out. Why they didn't use c-clips like later Duals.

Trying to think back when I refurbished mine ,I kind of remember something that it doesn't screw out. Its not a screw you put a small head screw driver on it and pull up on the wheel . The small washer pops off with the wheel so make sure its a small screwdriver . Those kits you get with the tops that rotate ,not sure of technical term. Hope this helps.

You're trying to turn something that doesn't turn. All the penetrating oil in the world won't make that thing unscrew.
The idler is held on by a soft nylon lock washer. It's kind of clear/cloudy looking and you can see it running around the outside of what it is you're trying to turn.
Pry it off--GENTLY!-- with a small screw driver. The idler will slide right off.
