Dual 1019 Idler Wheel Adjustment Question

jcamero

Who are you people anyway?
Yes, I have the manual, downloaded from Hifi Engine. I have to adjust the platter speed to the extreme, (fast) to sound right. I know what needs to be done to adjust the idler. My question is the hex head nut size. I'm guessing metric, but what size? That's all I got!
Great sounding table!

No idea what size, I just pulled out my ignition wrench set and found the one that fit.

On my 1019 the motor pulley actually sits a little up from bottomed out on the motor shaft. If it sits all the way down there isn't enough fine adjustment in the idler shaft to achieve proper speed.

The manual says, M 3/4, do they still make ignition wrenchs?

The capstan on the motor has a slot head set screw. If you loosen it and raise the capstan on the shaft a smidge you should be ok.

And yes, it's a great table.
