Dual 1019 multi-play spindle problem

I just picked up a Dual 1019, very nice shape. It came with a Shire M80E-D19 cartridge, with the spring suspension, and the stacker spindle.

The spindle drops the entire stack of records at once. It appears the little copper or brass fingers that should hold up the stack except one record aren't projecting far enough to do the job. I can see that the cam is moving up fully, when I have the spindle in my hand.

Can anyone please help?

The design of that stacking spindle includes some rubber parts that will dry out after 40 years. So even if you locate a N.O.S. replacement spindle, you might have the same problem. Use the short spindle.
A more-recently designed spindle has no rubber, but will not work on the 1019.
