I purchased an Ebay 1218 knowing it needed some work. I’m pretty proud because it didn’t work at all when I got it - and after careful disassembly and re-greasing it works mostly.
Everything works - except the auto lift only works maybe half the time. Sometimes 1/10 and sometimes 9/10. Very strange.
For the times it doesn’t work - if I take the head shell all the way to the end it will auto return - and then go to where it was supposed to be had it worked initially. Strange - because it goes up and down/side to side reliably everywhere except the very first lift at start.
I did put a new steuerpimpel and I’ve checked various things to try and reduce anything causing any drag when the start switch is hit. I did sand down the paddle/main switch and that seemed to help a lot - it keeps getting better but not 100%.
Does anyone have suggestions on what best to try?
