Dual 1218 repair

Hi all! I’m new to the forum. I recently picked up a Dual 1218 that needs some TLC. Does anyone have some tips for removing the post that is circled in the picture below? It feels very tight and I’m nervous about stripping the groove. Thanks for any advice you can provide!

Some models have a locking nut on the top side of the chassis on that post. Make sure you've removed that nut of it's included on your table. A couple drops of penetrating oil on the threads on the top side and let it sit for a while might help as well. Use a screwdriver that fits the slot tightly.
