Dual 1219 Anti Skate Issue - Acting erratic

Hello,

I have been kinda stumped by this - my well set up Dual 1219 has started acting strange with regards to the anti-skate setting. Probably a year a two ago, I determined I needed to back down the anti skate setting to close to 0 to get it to perform correctly. It has recently began migrating during playback and was causing distortion in playback and even a skip here or there.

It took me a couple of days to isolate what was going on, I initially thought it was the new LP Gear CFN3600LE cartridge which just days prior was really delivering the goods. I have backed the anti skate all the way off and it is close but not quite where it should be. I have taken a quick look to the underside but didn't see anything that looked off.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks, Sean

So I think I might have answered my own question here - in taking another look, the top spring seems to have a slight kink in the middle that is surely causing this, so I will pull a spring from the parts table and replace the existing one. In the meantime, I will just leave it since I have seen a few well set up turntables that don't perform as well on the anti skate band of the test record as my Dual is now.

Thanks, Sean
