Dual 1219 Pop diagnosis and switch block internals

I'm restoring a Dual 1219 and am addressing the "Pop" on motor start / stop. I've cleaned the visible contacts with DeOxit and replaced the snubber capacitor with a new .1mF cap, but still have the pops. Did a crocus cloth contact cleaning - no change. Also cleaned the mute contacts similarly.

Removed the switch block from the chassis and discovered a burnt spot inside, and an unidentified loose part.
What am I seeing?
