Dual 1219 Stylus Broken - Need Guidance Replacing

I just found a Dual 1219 that looks to be in good condition. The stylus is broken. Should I replace the cartridge or can I just replace the stylus? Here are a couple pictures in case anyone can recommend a few options. I don't see a model number on the cartridge, but the stylus is a MA 282 e. Thank you to everyone on this site for your help.

KENT, Thanks. I'm digging, but only coming up with dust. Can you recommend an $80 to $100 cartridge that would work well with this unit? It seems like a rarer unit with the high sides and slide-out cover. Overall in Very Nice shape! Would love to hear it singing again! Really appreciate your help!

You will have to have Your stylus retiped in all likelihood..MA stuff is really rare these days.
 
Many of the Dual idler tables came new out of the box with either Shure or Pickering cartridges. I prefer using the original cartridges as long as good aftermarket styli are available. A couple of options I enjoy are the Pickering XV-15 400 and Shure M91ED. Pickering also provided factory made mounting brackets with their cartridges for Dual and other brands. They were designed to snap fit into the Dual cartridge sled so that overhang and alignment were preset. Just hook the lead wires to the cartridge, insert stylus, set VTA and off you go.
 
Have three 1219s. One has a Shure V15 with.a Jico HE, one with a Shure M55/Jico HE. And latest with Audio Technica AT 11. All work well. Have a new AT95 I have used on a 1229. New the AT 95 is what I would go with. The Jico stylus prices have gone up.(like everything else). Need to replace two M91ED. Was paying around $35 shipped. Now $73. With $25 shipping. Hope this helps, PS, nice base and dust cover. German one, not the US built crappy ones!

Thanks for the info NoTransistors & stereofisher. I'm really hoping there's a way to save the cartridge and just replace the stylus. But appreciate the info on good replacements, which I will likely end up doing. This group is so awesome! I'll keep everyone updated with this tale.
