Dual 1229 Inconsistent Start Cycle

Hi All - the Start cycle on my Dual 1229 is working inconsistently.

When it works correctly...
- The lever arm pushes up against the steuerpimple
- The plate under the steuerpimple moves forward, pushing the tonearm outward against the tonearm rest
- The plate under the steuerpimple moves backward, moving the tonearm in position above the record
- The lever arm lowers

However, what usually happens is...

- The lever arm pushes up against the steuerpimple

- The plate under the steuerpimple moves backward, moving nothing as the plate is not in contact with the steuerpimple

I have removed old grease from the cam wheel and replaced it with fresh stuff, but there's solid chance I missed something.

The turntable is having trouble figuring out whether the arm is set to single or multi play. I do not have a pic at the moment to point out what is frozen with old grease. But no matter, you have frozen parts.

Thanks! I flipped it over and poked around a bit, scraped out some grease here and there with a Q-tip, and low and behold it started working. I'm not sure if it was the flipping or the scraping that got it going, so I doubt the robustness of my "fix". I think I'll be flipping it over again to give it a closer look.
