Dual 1264 remove from base?

I took this one last night before looking at how to get it done, but it is the original plinth.
The platter is off now. I outlined the transport screws. From what I understand, move them
to the side after pulling up a little. I feel them move but I don't feel it coming off the base. thanks

It's a bit tricky with those plastic bases because the part of the base that captures the screw is much thicker than the wood bases.

1) make sure all 3 screws hang freely, i.e. they are not threaded to the metal chassis
2) start with the front screw, with one hand, tilt the screw head away from the platter and gently pull the front of the chassis up
3) once the front screw is free, do the same to the screw on the right side, tilt the head away from the platter and lift the chassis
4) now the rear screw, this one may be the most difficult, you may have to wiggle the metal chassis some to get it out

Perfect instructions!

It takes a little "frigging around" to get them all free. They only clear the plastic base by a small amount and I find when trying to lift one side while holding the transport screw in the tilted position, the other side usually grabs the case or moves back into the groove on me. For me it's a careful back and forth game until I get them all free. Sometimes, you have to not pull them up as far as they will go in order to clear the slot in the plastic base when you tilt them.

I took the bottom parts off mine and put the screws back into the holes so now they're just a straight post. even like that, They can often catch and make it difficult to remove the table easily.

Their only purpose is to lock the table down on its springs for shipping or moving. Since I'll never be moving again (retired) they're just a PITA I can do without when getting the decks out to service them.

I also tossed the cheapo plastic plinths and built my own out of oak.

I'm stuck on this grommet. The piece is rounded on the sides, so I can't press too hard, or pliers snap into the wire bundle and I'm trying to keep the ground wire.
Wiggle side to side and push towards opening is my understanding. Any ideas are appreciated. It doesn't seem to move is the issue.

Just the one for the rca connectors. I have posted the instructions for my replacement cables above. They have their own grommet on the cable since they are larger in diameter.
And I'm saying grommet, but it is the strain relief shown—the little doughnut. Unless I'm completely misreading, which could be the case too.

The destructive method may need to be employed, you have nothing to lose. Id just try to cut the strain relief and old cables flush at the plate with a dyke or something and then wiggle them out.

My tables don’t have that bracket, but I’ve run across those types before. See if theres one side that will push in towards the center. They usually have one “segment” that will move, allowing you to remove the whole thing from the bracket hole. They’re still tight and I’ve often had to get a precision screwdriver or punch under the hard grommet to force it up out of the bracket. Sometimes they don’t come straight up out of the slot but will apart of “roll” up and out. Work the grommet, not the cable or you risk an internal break.

If none of that works, I would switch to the “destructive” method and cut them away from the cables until the come free.

Sometimes those grommets are a “one way” deal….

Ok, I got it out. It didn't really push forward down the slot; it popped back out of the hole.
And then it opens up to release the cables. thanks.
