Hi, this is my first post to this forum and I know very little about record players.
I purchased a dual 601 refurbished a year ago, and the speed selector has always acted up, specifically switching it from 45 to 33.
When I switch the speed back from 45 to 33 the belt gets stuck in the middle of shaft and makes a rubbing noise shown here:
It's not the biggest issue, as when I turn off the player it causes the belt to go back into the 33 position, it's just somewhat annoying to have to do that.
Does anybody know any simple remedies for this issue? Is the spring worn out? Do I need to lubricate it, clean it? If so, what lubricant. I know next to nothing, thanks.
