Dual 604 Platter Removal

Hi all -- I've combed thru a half dozen threads on this topic but haven't found a detailed answer for how to remover 604 platter - also have downloaded and read Service Manual for 604 off Vinyl Engine... it skips details on platter removal. I wonder if anyone who has one of these and has actually removed the thing and can tell me what the catch is (if there is one?). I've tried banging the spindle and just trying to pry the thing off and it feels like it might break the TT. There's not mini c-clamp or other evident fastener at the spindle -- Is there another hidden set screw? or some other secret fastener?

Holy cow - lol. You're kidding?! Someone (Father Time possibly?) must have welded mine in place. Thanks for that - my mind had imagined all kinds of confounding fasteners under the surface. Curious, is the spindle itself fixed to the platter? or like on my older 1219 meant to come off separately? It seems molded to the platter.

Just hit the spindle with the hard plastic handle of a screw driver or something similar.

Some user tried heating the spindle with hair drier and then cooling it with ice......

Greta thanks - not to belabor this topic, but just so I'm clear with how I exert my brute force with the screwdriver handle --- do I hit the the spindle so that it separates from the platter? or do I hit the spindle so that the force exerted loosens the whole platter to which the spindle is permanently attached?

Spindle is not permanently attached to platter.
