Dual 606 tracking force adjustment issue.

I have a dual 606 turntable that has an issue with the tracking force adjustment where it only increases by like 0.4 grams even when going from 0-3. I assume this is an issue with the spring but I have never had one of these tonearms apart so I don't know how the mechanism works. Is this adjustable? And if not is it fixable?
