Sorry to revive this old thread but might be worth for a lot of people now days. Very useful and interesting thread, OP is there anyway all photos can be repaired? I have a 731q restoring project but without pictures is proving difficult to understand some stuff. Nonetheless lots of great info here thanks a lot all! Greetings from Costa Rica

I am still alive. I will try to fix the links to the pictures. I am requesting the ability to edit my old posts. I loved my 714Q but I ended up swithing to a Technics SL-1200 MK2 by DJ Henray Customs about 8 years ago. Here is the tretcherous table. I had as much as possible white powder coated. Henray used all new internal parts. It sounds almost as good as the 714Q but will be far less maintenance. The MK2 has a reputaion for being tough for DJ use. Maintaining old dying vinatge gear was becoming to much of a chore.

Pictures are linked again. I hope 714Q and 731Q owners will find this thread useful. I noticed there are some YouTube repair videos for these tables. They don't go into all the headshell, cartridge, stylus and adapters though. between those videos and this thread people should have a good shot at keeping these tables alive.

It's probably because the pictures were initially linked with http://zuki.net/714Q and most browsers want "https" for security now. I was only able to get my pictures restored back to the http site. In Firefox you could whitelist the http://zuki.net site and they might display. I'll try it. The moderator changed the very first picture on page 1 to https, can you see this one? The mod said they we're going in add the pictures directly to the audiokarma site over the next bit which was awefully nice of them. I lost my abilty to edit my old posts without paying for a subscription, which I don't need as I don't follow vintage audio anymore.

Well, I can indeed see the first pic in post #1. However, the other pics now just show up as filenames rather than links. Hmmm...

Ok - success. Tried opening the first of the aforementioned filenames by clicking it with the right mouse button and opening the graphics in a new tab, then I've ignored the secuirty warning by Firefox, that came up, and then the pic of the Dual ULM advert indeed appeared - and with that this pic as well as the other pics also appeared in the original window/tab. Oddly enough, my Firefox isn't configured to only work with https-sites or -links, though - but apparently it needs some additional nudging, if there's a mix of https and regular http, which it apparently deems risky.

Thanks for testing. Everything you did worked as expected. The moderator will be updating the pictures to be hosted on the audiokarma site. When that's done, there will not be any browser security issues. I commend you for helping the forum all these years. I'm close to retiring. Maybe I'll delve into vintage audio a bit more soon.
