Dual CS 1237 turntable - replacing 220 V for 110 V

Hello, audiophiles,

I purchased a nice-looking Dual CS 1237 turntable but I realized it came with the 220 V power supply. What are my options, since I'd like to run it on 110 volts?

Hey Mario,

The voltage is handled pretty easily by way of a stepup transformer. They can be found fairly inexpensively, like maybe $30 and up. Also, I think you can rearrange the wires in the power junction box to switch from 110 to 220 or vice versa.

However what could be a bigger problem is that it was likely sold with 50hz in mind as that's common in 220v countries. If that is the case the pulley would need to be changed to work at the right speed on 60hz line current.

Welcome to the AK turn table forum.

You can simply switch the motor from 220-240V to 110-125V using the supplied connections.

See Page 5, Fig. 6 of the service manual.
