Hello,

New Here! I have a couple of different vintage turntables-receiver and trying to get a hand on how to fix small problems.

I have a Dual CS 515 turntable ta strongly refused to play from the left side. I tested with a multimeter from the headshell to the RCA, everything's fine, but once it's plugged in, sound is fine on the right-red, but just a buzz sound on the left-white.

I am new at this and trying to learn, but where should I look to to help me solve this.

What type of interconnects are you using? I had the same issue. The interconnects were too large, causing the connectors on the table to spread, causing loss of signal and a dreaded buzz/ hum. Try swapping the interconnects out.
 
Hey!

Not sure what you meant, but it is just the cable directly linked from the turntable to the phono output of the mp. It is the original cable, no swap nothing.
 
E_MV: Did you also measure the resistance from the central pin to the ground ring of each plug, with the headshell including cartridge connected - or alternatively just of the cartridge itself via its output pins? That should result in a couple of hundred Ohms per channel - whereas an "OL" reading would indicate a broken coil wire.
