Found a Dual CS503-1 at the local thrift shop and was wondering
if this would be a good general purpose TT.
It's got a (I'm assuming aftermarket)Grado cartridge #XF3.
Seems to play very well and not much previous owner abuse.
I'm not up on TT's but would like to listen to albums that i've kept all these years.

Thanks for any input,
Dave

Hmm......... found this on the CS503-2, but nothing on the 1.

Dual CS503-2

The $350.00 price on the -2, would indicate to me that this was a pretty good TT in its day and the Grado is a better cartridge, so if it's priced right you should be fine.

Both look to be quality components; it may be gone if you don't get back there. Whenever I'm shopping I remember that a pizza delivered usually runs about $20, so what do I have to lose?

I had one before I got my Well Tempered and sold it. Stupid. It was a very nice table. wish I still had it.

FWIW, mine sold on Ebay for over $100. Go get it!

Yep, that's the one I went ahead and picked it up for $15.00
some minor cleanup and some tone arm adjustments works like a champ.
Set up must have been the previous owners problem.

Thanks for the input guys,

Dave
