Dual gimbal ball bearing replacement

Dear friends! I bought a nice Dual 626. Due bad packaging it came pretty beaten. The balls from the upper gimbal bearing had been lost. (under pin 42 on the picture) Does anyone have an idea what size they may have been? I could not find any reference.
Also, what tool do you use to unscrew counter nut 41?

Considering damaged races, ect, this may be a lost cause/parter donor.
Get a refund if poasible and take a lesson on turntable shipping from the experience.
 
Lots of Dual TT parts for sale on eBay. A quick scroll and I found a tone arm using the same or very similar bracket like #43 in that diagram. They probably used the same tome arm or gimbal assy on various models.
 
You could not hopefully find at least one ball bearing in the package?
That might've helped at least find their diameter.

Can't figure how such could fall apart enroute, sounds like you were sold a basket case from the get go, and yeah, I'd ask for a return-refund.
 
Call Bill at Fixmydual.com He will tell you if you can fix it. I would not hesitate to send it back. Is this direct drive??
 
Most every ball is same size since 1972. Most every race cover is same size as well, so wasy enough to find donor parts.
Get a refund. You should not need to fix this.
 
There are 5 ball bearings in your race - 1.5 MM each. Typical for the more expensive Duals. The cheaper ones like the 1241, 1242, 1237, 1257 and others used 4 balls per race - at 2.0 MM

Of the (perhaps thousands) of these I have rebuilt, about 20% are with 4 balls in a cage.
They still have the retaining washer, so unless you remove it, you will not ever see this difference.
My personal 1219 happens to be like this.
Matter of fact, my cousin David also has caged balls. Wife wears them in a necklace around her neck.

So far the knowledge base grew to this:
4,02mm - stoN_Cold - not exactly seen in the picture, but it seems not the top bearing
1,2mm * 5pcs - info from Dualfred
1,5mm * 5pcs - Bohhey
0,98mm * 5pcs - stoN_Cold
1,24mm * 5pcs - Bohhey

The arm block that the CS626 has looks the same as in these: 505, 606, 622, 628, 650RC, 1257, 1264.
Dear Bohhey and stoN_Cold - which turntable did you have measurements taken of?
