Dual owners need your help

The last few nights I've tried to listen to records on my 1019 I thought they sounded off, so I checked the platter speed and it was a little slow. I adjusted it via the pitch adjustment to get it back up to the correct speed. Just now I went to listen to a record and the sound was off, checked the speed, and yes, it was low again. I've had to make a pretty major adjustment to the pitch knob now to get the speed right.

So, I'm guessing something is either bad or going bad, where do I begin?

Thanks!

Also try vinyl engine and the dual page. Lots of great stuff there. As for pitch control, off the top of my head it is usually the idler wheel being slightly off. I just finished totally restoring my 1019 and they are not hard if you understand them.

The motors sometimes take awhile to warm up as well for it to settle in. As stated above lube the motor as well.

Has it been cleaned and re lubed?

I will guess the motor needs re-lubing or the brass drive is loose...or both. Use sewing machine oil on the motor bearings.
