Hans Zimmer is the man! His musical scores are every bit as immersive as the films they are attached to. Interstellar is one example.

Since I finally got around to reading Dune last year I've been really excited about the upcoming movie.

One way to tell the caliber of the movie is it’s soundtrack. Hans Zimmer’s Dune 2021 soundtrack is a supportive one. It is like musical seasoning to the main course which is the visuals on the screen. The other kind is like a sauce that covers what you are seeing. Both kinds of soundtracks a usually very good. But with a supportive one the music invokes scenes from the movie. In a covering soundtrack you don’t remember the movie but the music. A great example of that is Jupiter Ascending. A fantastic soundtrack but you don’t remember much about the movie. Here is an example from Michael Giacchino soundtrack to Jupiter Ascending. My favorite track; The Titus Clipper. This is the theme for the starship of the evil Balem Abrasax, a totally unbelievable bad guy. The movie completely squandered this starship in the movie. This theme with the Clipper flying into the solar system would have been fantastic.
