DVP-NS755V or Sony C77ES

Picked up this Sony DVP-NS755V at a local thrift and now wondering where it might go. In my main system I use a Sony C77ES/MSB DAC combo for CD listening but I am wondering if swapping it out for the DVP-NS755V would make sense. The DVP-NS755V is reportedly weak with CD's but a pretty strong SACD player. Any thoughts???

Hook the analog outputs up to listen to SACD. Hook the digital out up to your DAC and the DVP will be just a transport.

Thanks maybe I am missing something in your answer.
Are you saying have both hooked units hooked up to the DAC?

DVP hooked up to the digital connection and the C77ES hooked up to the analog connection? If that is possible that would be the best of both worlds.
If it helps answer the question I use a Adcom GFP-555 as the pre-amp.

Sorry. No. SACD cannot be decoded by the DAC. So, hook the analog output of the SACD DVP to an unused analog input of you preamp. Hook the digital ouput of the DVP to the DAC anf the DAC analog output to a different analog input the preamp. Any of the analog inputs on the preamp will probably do except phono.

You will have to decide if the DVP going thru the DC sounds as good as your current CD player thru the DAC.

Thanks! Your input is very much appreciated!

It looks like I will keep both in the system as my wife likes the 5-disc capability of the C77 and she loves using the remote with it so she can switch tracks or discs very easily.

So I will, as you suggest hook, the DVP up to to one of the analog inputs on the pre. I have available the Tape 2 connection or the Video/Aux connection. Any ideas which one might be the best option?

I used a similar model for years, I forget the number. I loved it as an SACD player, but the video was terrible for dvds.

I am going to migrate the Sony C77ES into my other Sony ES gear as my Sony C222ES seems to be having issues reading discs. In its place I was looking to put a Denon 1500 but it does not have a digital connection so hooking it up to the DAC is an issue. Is there an adapter than I can use that will allow me to use the analog connections of the Denon and hook it up to one of the digital (coax or optical) connections of my DAC?
