Dynaco A25 recap question

I have three pairs of A25's one I recently recapped with 5.0 uf mylar caps. I have a pair of 4.7uf mylar caps, would they be OK to use on either a A25 or A25XL. I was just going to change the caps and compare the sound, I have all three pairs stacked. Also has anyone seen the rosewood A25's? I have one that looks different than the others it has dark and light streaks in the veneer. It almost looks like the rosewood B&O used but doesnt have the orange tint.

If the caps are 5 uf, they'll be fine, but I think the 25XL use 8 uf caps and they wouldn't be a good fit there. I had a pair of each and the caps were different; I just don't recall which ones had the 5s and which the 8s..:dunno:
 
I took out the A25XL cap and it was 8uf, I thought it was a 5uf from what I read. Anyway took a 4.7uf and and a 3.5uf and wired them in parallel for a 8.2uf. Bow I will listen to the 25's amd 25xl's.
 
The same happened to me, except I opened the A25 and found the 5's so I expected the A25XLs to be the same...

I also found a voice coil inside the speaker box, when I pulled the insulation apart? About 1/2" wide by 1/2" tall, copper with leads, with dust and insulation sticking to it?

Dynaco A-25 doesn't use an inductor, just the crossover cap and the resistor/switch network - don't know about the A-25XL. What you have pictured there does indeed look like a voice coil! Maybe there was some warranty replacement work done and that's from the original woofer?
 
A woofer would not have 1/2" or even a 3/4" VC. Does a Dynaco A25 tweeter have a VC like that? Somebody evidently dropped it in there.

BTW, I had three pair of original Advents stacked like that before I reentered quadramania and it sounded pretty incredible.

I was thinking it might belong to the A25 tweeter since it has a long narrow magnet, but who knows where it may have come from or belong to. I have an orphan A 35 if I had a match I would stack it to.
