Dynaco A25 Reproduction

I only have one Dynaco A25 speaker. I really like the sound and size for a small room where I listen to mostly jazz and classical music. As a woodworker, I can easily make a reproduction of the cabinet, but I don't know what drivers or crossover to place inside the enclosure.

Can you recommend a 10 " woofer, tweeter and crossover from the PartsExpress catalog? Is this just a bad idea because I will never be able to reproduce the sound of the original A25?

First option, become a subscriber, ($25.00), and advertise in Bartertown for WTB, woofer, crossover, & tweeter. Second option, check da 'bay for the components or an orphan speaker.

Madisound has a kit that is supposed to be a Dynaco A25 reproduction. They have drivers for that kit either in kit form or separately available, so I would think that they might be a good choice?
 
With a little patience you should be able to find original Dynaco components. Many A25s were made (~1 million) and other models in the line up (A35, A50) use the same components. Check craigslist too. I found 4 A40XL (slightly different components than A25) at a garage sale. Good Luck. By the way I found that the Dynaco A40XL sound almost exactly line my Boston A100. Sure enough the first version of this speaker used Seas components (as does Dynaco).
 
Thank you for your advice. The Madisound prices are way too high for my hi-fi wallet. I have a 10" woofer, tweeter and crossover from a Pioneer G201 speaker. Could I install them into an A25 reproduction enclosure? Is it unrealistic to expect that the sound would be similar to the original A25?

Agree, and sometimes you can find a very nice price for them. Regarding the A50 components, only can use the tweeter, the two woofers are 15-16 ohm versions of the A25 woofer so are not suitable for an A25 clone.

Be aware there were two somewhat different A25 woofer, one with a round frame and one with little mounting ears protruding off the frame. Probably good to match the ones you have.
