Dynaco A25 Tweeter Reattaching Magnet to Cone

disorder

New Member
I recently picked up a pair of broken Dynaco A25. Turns out one of the speakers tweeters magnet's simply unscrewed and unglued (?) and fell back into the cabinet. I cleaned the magnet "gap" with compressed air and some tape, reinserted the voice coil into it and screwed it back together and it magically seems to work! I have a pair of new tweeters for the future but for the time being I'm curious what the proper way to get this tweeter back together would be. Mainly... was there adhesive that held these together along with the four screws? Is there anyway I can test this tweeter fully other than a general ear test?

I know that my A25XL speakers' tweeters had replaceable voice coil assemblies and were simply held onto the magnet assembly with 4 screws. The A25s' H086 tweeter may be the same thing. If you wanted, you could put some weak Loc-tite thread lock on the screw threads.
