Dynaco A25s on an Actual Bookshelf

Had my Dyancos angled up from the floor and on stands...but now have them on a mounted bookshelf a little short of five feet off the ground and slightly angled down, really enjoying their placement.

Anyone else have experience with Dynaco A25s up high? Opinions? I have not mounted them to a wall yet...anyone try this?

I have my A-25's mounted on a bookshelf like yours....sounds great while standing for that sweet spot.

I've tried many types of bookshelf speakers on these bookshelves but they all sounded better on stands away from walls.

What I did is pulled them a little away from the wall, but have books against the sides. Really like the response.

Have you tried them upside down? To get the tweeters nearer to seated ear level.

But if they sound good now that’s all that really matters.

I have a set on stands, toed in. Have tried them on the floor never on a bookshelf. They sound sweet the way they are now so I will stay with that setup.

Driving with a Sansui 4000 and Dual 1219. The poppy Dual and low end of the Sansui are a great match for the Dynacos.

Right. And their being light in weight helps too.

I have my A25XLs on a shelf. I prefer the elevated posture. In the old days, bookshelf speakers were designed with the mounting near a wall in mind. In fact your speakers came with wall hanging brackets on the back, they were made to hang directly on the front wall.



These (and 4 other sets of speakers) are mounted on a shelf that is 4 foot off the floor. These ended up in the corner, but don' seem to mind it.

I see your speaker is angled. Where mine are placed I had the left speaker straight for awhile, then I angled it...huge difference!

I have a set of the A25's in my "family room" area (huge open kitchen/office) sitting on their sides with the woofers towards the center EIGHT feet off the floor on top of the cabinets. They are used in conjunction with a 10" Klipsch subwoofer on the floor. They sound fine, and much better than the old Bose 301 Series II that I had up there for years.

I have a "mirrored" pair in my bedroom on 26" stands, these sound fantastic at that height

I see you have a slanted ceiling on the right side, so the only way is to set them on their sides. Did you play with the tweeters being on the inside or the outside? Which ever way sounds best to you is the right answer anyway.

I see you have a slanted ceiling on the right side, so the only way is to set them on their sides. Did you play with the tweeters being on the inside or the outside? Which ever way sounds best to you is the right answer anyway.

I tried them with the tweeters towards the center and they sounded too bright, put the woofer to the center and fantastico ! I would have liked to stand them up, but the angled ceiling is 3" too low at the highest point, so on their sides the went.
