Dynaco A25XL woofer trouble - can it be repaired?

Well, how about measurements. Other sources say that the external dimensions of the A-25 are about the same as the A-25XL. Another data point would be useful.

Nice job on your Dynaco's with modded cabs. You did a fine job constructing new cabs. I remember seeing pictures in another thread.
I just measured one of my Dynaco A-25 speakers:
19-3/4" H x 11-7/16 W x 9-7/8" D
There does not appear to be any appreciable difference in size between yours, mine, and what others have reported for the A-25 and A-25XL. And our measurements are within what I would consider normal tolerance and rounding relative to Greg's site: 11.5" x 20" x 10"
No model number on mine, either. I have yet to pull the woofer to recap and check driver model number. Here is a pic of the front:

I have no idea where he got those drawings, but they are well drafted. The plan dimensions are almost exactly the same as mine (mine is 1/16" narrower).
Guys short story about my lucky nephew, in two parts, bare with me. Found him a Marantz 2230 on Craigslist, and when I went to pick it up it lit but didn't sing. Nephew renegotiated with the seller and got a very sweet deal. I took it home hooked it up, and for some reason thought, "let's just try again" and plugged in speakers. It sounded wonderful, no problems anywhere, no idea what the problem was at the seller's place.
THEN my nephew goes out to the garage and FINDS a pair of Dynaco A25s! Left to him by the Dr. who sold the house. Now the point of my post. The A25s were in the garage because one tweeter is funky. Nephew says both the woofer and tweeter have a substance sealing them, and doesn't know how to get them out for repair. Anyone run across this, or is this a special case where someone went overboard sealing these?

No. I don’t see it. I understand it should be something like H085 but I don’t see it.
It is possible that very early on there was only one F-EW and when later cone coatings,
foam edge, dynamic damping came out then added the H number.
One of my A-25 s had an F-EW H250 in it and it did not sound right at all:
