Did the A25's ever come with 3/4" thick wood for the cabinets?

I bought a pair that has the same dimensions as my other pair of A25's that only have 1/2" wood stock.

The speaker elements are very similar to Dynaco but the cabinets are more like my AR-4x's.

It is possible that the first pair you have with the thinner looking cabinets are A-25XL's. The XL's were a later upgrade with a nicer 1 inch dome tweeter that was 3dbs more efficient than the earlier regular A-25's. The size of the tweeter is not an obvious difference at first. You have to look a little closer to notice it. The thinner looking profile of the front of the cabinet is noticable and also the fact that the grilles stick out about 1/2 inch on the XL's and they are flush on the non XL's. Also the tweeter switch on the XL's have 3 positions and there are about 5 on the standards. Just a possibility. I discovered it kind of by mistake myself. Good Luck! Franksta
