Dynaco Mark III Removing Preamp Power

Hey everyone, I’m attempting to assemble a set of Mark IIIs and want to skip installing the front octal socket and leave only bias test jacks. Is it as simple as ignoring anything that leads to the octal socket and leaving only one connection point plus a ground point to probe for bias voltage? If so, what connection do I make besides the ground to read the voltage? Is it to pin 8 on V1 or am I misreading something?
