I also did LTSpice sims and posted some insights at, I think, the Classic Speaker
Pages about 10 years ago but can't seem to find the thread.
I concentrated more on the line stage.

(chuckles...) perhaps not complex enough. I have an anti-affinity for anything like simple new fangled kitchen type 'gadgets' to figuring out how to take off a canister/ filter vac. w/o a user manual. i.e. missing the obvious because of lack of complexity.

Someone here posted one with one 12AU7 per, gain stage DC coupled to cathode follower line drive.

I was trying to determine how much I could reduce the coupling caps and perhaps go to film types.
There are plenty of good line stages out there.
