I like to make older Schematic nice a "pretty" for my own archiving, but I rather share it, as maybe its still helpful today

EasyEDA.

My favorite free software I have ever come across!! Seriously a great piece of free software!!

once you learn where everything is located, like "USER CONTRIBUTED PARTS" you will have so much fun with it!!

If you can think of it, EASYEDA can draw it

For Vacuum Tubes, theirs are some user contributed parts you can pick from, but if you don't like the Look, you can use the "Circle "line drawing tool" to make your own Tube Envelope Symbols. Just make a circle, and draw the cathode and grids/anode with the Line tool.

For transformers, I just make a half oval with the ARC tool, and copy it over and over for the windings.

And then you can save those as templates for later use
