Just finished this piece of tube goodness; sounds great now; can't wait for the Mullards( Rectifier and EL34s) to properly burn in.

Jumping on the bandwagon!
I aquired this non-working ST-70 on ebay
- Check the wiring against the build manual
- Did the power on test without the tubes
- replace the rectifer with a new JJ
- did the "yellow sheet" mod
- replace the filter can
- upgrade the input to gold plated ones
- install new Svetlana matched quads
She plays beautifully now!

Lol... so I have gathered from reading all these posts. But I am sure I will be entering the 'rabbit hole’ with the watchful eye of our audiokarma community!

For now I am really happily blasting reggae music throughout the house.....

I like what I see here. Replace the can of course and coupling caps or whole board as required and you have a nice amp. Don't have to go full upgrade crazy (at least not yet).
