Everywhere you look, someone is telling you to stop smoking. There are drugs, tricks, clubs, and natural cures. Worldwide, e-cigarettes (electronic cigarettes) are coming on strong, because they give the nicotine, something to do with your hands and mouth and lungs, all without the smoke and its medical problems, and at much lower cost.

For us audio nuts, the terminology used to describe this whole thing is just too close to miss:

Old style cigarettes are called "Analog".
New style electronic cigarettes are called "Digital".

This thread is for people to talk about e-cigarettes. anything goes, including which brands you like, where to get them, tips on switching over, experiences, good points, bad points, and anything else you'd like the AK world to know.

Here's a major warning: NO SMOKING DEBATES!! This is a place to talk about e-cigarettes, not to rehash the whole smoking issue. Violating this will cause an immediate vacation from AK.

This thread is a sticky, so post early, post often!

Well they don't help you stop. Its more a slightly healthier way to smoke and get out from under the large costs of smoking.
 
I'm still waiting for them to outlaw these since the FDA hasn't approved them...

I've almost bought some a few times, but just never have. I kind of wonder if I could get away with them in my office. I know nothing about them.. if they smell or what not.. All I know is the things I've read about since they aren't controlled yet, no telling what you're really smoking.. but with what they are putting in FSC's I'm sure it can't be worse..

You honestly think they are worse than "real smokes" ?

I started using one of these just a few days ago. Short answer is yes to your question.

The hardest part for me is I am addicted to the 2900 other chemicals in real smokes.
 
I don't think they are worse, but then again, I had read that the cartridges were made in China, and with all of the other things they've been trying to kill us, our kids, and our pets with, I'm just a little leary...

So do they have an oder to them when you are using them?
 
BTW.. I gave up on pre packaged smokes since they went to the FSC's.. I was having a lot of problems with my lip feeling really strange, almost like a sore, and my chest was hurting, not to mention what a pain in the ass it was with ashes falling off all the time.

I ended up buying bulk tobacco (McClintock that I mix with Danish Export) and stuffing them in tubes myself..
 
Most of the nic juice is made in the UK or US. It's based on food grade vegetable oil.

The people I know who have been weened off smokes and on to the e-smokes tell me they have never felt this good in years.
 
I have been trying one for the past couple of days. Figured what did I have to lose. The Joye 510 is the most popular model. It can be a real PITA to find them since they sell out as fast as they make em.
 
Everything I read on it screamed stay away. Believe me the Joye 510 is the one to get right now.
 
I wish there was something for us pipe smokers. I'm so tired of it and so addicted to it.

I poked around a bit and found pipe tobacco flavored nicotine juice but as far as I know there are no e-smoke pipes yet. It would not surprise me if they come out with one.
 
I haven't heard of these. I watched part the youtube video. They said the "smoke" was water vapour. Isn't this goind to be bad for the lungs?
