Earliest Sherwood receivers

Hi everyone. Do any of you all know for sure when Sherwood made SS receivers in the US ? I'm looking at something the seller says was USA made but clearly marked made in Japan. He says Sherwood was assembling receivers in the US with foreign components just before they were sold and moved to Korea. Anyone shed some light please ?
BTW The unit in question is an S-7210 Thanks on advance.

The S-7210 was made in Japan to the best of my knowledge. They are nice low budget receivers when fixed up. I think the 8900 and 7900 were some of the last USA ones. Also I think HP1000 and HP2000 were use made later in the 70s, big tanks.

Some of the upper end units were made here. The S-8900A and its S-7900A receiver siblings (former just FM, latter FM and AM tuner) were made in Chicago along with the amps @Warren-Oates mentioned. Been in the S-8900A and S-7200 have a number of similarities but some differences, a lot of Panasonic electrolytic caps and Japanese transistors in the S-7200 while the 8900A amp section all Motorola, a lot of Seimens transistors elsewhere, and a lot more tantalum capacitors. Sherwood ran an ad for the S-8900A / S-7900A receivers touting their Chicago roots. I figure some older models were also made domestically.

When you get into the latter 1970s CP receivers the upper end blue dial S-75CP and S-110CP were made in Japan and the silver faced lower power CP ones like the S-7650CP were made in Korea.

Nothing wrong with the Japanese ones. I like both the S-8900A and S-7200. I think the S-7210 is probably part of the next generation line of receivers probably around 1974 or 1975. The S-8900A had Dynaquad but the more mid line S-7200 did not. I see the S-7210 listed at 26 watts per channel.
