Early 70's rock albums

Snade

Second garage sale I hit today, I was lucky.

Found the records below, vinyl is amazingly good shape. All original, early 70's releases. Buck each.

The Who album included the two posters and all the inserts. :yikes:

To me, this is the sweet spot of the history of rock music.

couple of trivialities...

The original release of 'Leeds came loaded with a bunch of reproduction tour stuff. I bought a sealed one in later years to replace my aging original and it was baren. No fun stuff. - great live album nonetheless.

Got a cd version of 'nod last year from columbiahouse and found that Maybe I'm Amazed was no longer in the cd lineup. (best track on the lp)

a good haul you have there :thmbsp:

Live at Leeds is one of the best live albums of all time. Mountain's Greatest hits reminds me that at one time "Nantucket Sleigh Ride" was one of my favorite albums. Haven't heard that in 30 years. I'll have to drop a needle on it tonight. Great score!

that live at Leeds and the Layla album look great. wish I had some records and something to play them on...

Yep, and the label was like a white promo with hand written track info. that Faces LP is good stuff too; I really liked that band :thmbsp:

Right, lucky for me the one I picked up today had all the posters and inserts.

I don't think Maybe I'm Amazed was ever on 'Nod. Certainly not on any of the versions I have (vinyl, Warner Bros., Audio Fidelity). I believe it was only released as a single. You can find a KILLER live version of it on the "Five guys" boxset.

Thanks Pmsummer.

my bad... It's on "Long Player"

all the colors run together as time goes by

Yeah, that "Five Guys walk into a Bar" is quite a nice set.The title is so Faces too...

BTW, "Maybe I'm Amazed" is off "Long Player" another goodie!! FWIW, I actually saw these guys back in the 1970s in a club in Milwaukee. Then the next day I'm taking the bus home from MU downtown and I see a bunch of Brits running about a U-Haul trailer in the Holiday Inn on Wisconsin Ave. Yep, it was The Faces :D

btw, you know they are talking about a reunion tour. Wonder who they would want on bass?

Damn, I'd prolly spring for that. Some of Rod's best stuff was from that period.
Looks like "5 Guys" is hitting the CD deck tonight!!

Good Lord, please send down a plague or two to keep this from ever happening.

There is no point with out Ronnie Lane and Ron Wood is in rehab. I saw them in 74'. What a great band! They were the "Homecoming" band at my College. UW Oshkosh. Go Titans!
